Big Bear Lake, CA. – The largest and most anticipated tour boat to cruise Big Bear Lake has arrived at Pine Knot Marina! Owning and operating a Paddlewheel Tour Boat has been a long awaited dream for Big Bear Lake’s Pine Knot Landing and is now a reality.
Part owner Jack Carnine notes “We hope to make the Big Bear community proud by housing the largest and most unique tourist attraction this town has seen - for both first-time guests looking to discover the natural beauty and serenity of Big Bear Lake, and for local residents who can enjoy year-round cruising. We plan to show our appreciation for our local 'cruisers' by offering a frequency discount passport."
The Paddlewheel arrived at her new home in Big Bear Lake after an extensive 2,500 mile journey from the Florida Delta. The transport began enduring a route by sea and land, ultimately making its way up the mountainside to its final destination in Pine Knot Marina at Big Bear Lake in May 2007. This incredible journey was photographed and tracked, and will serve as another piece of history for Pine Knot Marina.
Big Bear Lake, Mayor Bill Jahn states “We are very excited to have such a grand and accommodating permanent attraction available to residents, the tourism industry and for special event bookings. It will serve as a venue for spectacular sight seeing, and is a welcome addition to the many fine entertainment choices the Big Bear area already offers."
The Paddlewheel Boat was renamed Miss Liberty to capture the essence of the community spirit of Big Bear Lake.
The Miss Liberty with a seating capacity of 125 features 11⁄2 hour-long narrated tours. Historic highlights and celebrity sightings will be referenced in the narrated tour, with insight into the rich history of Big Bear Lake dating back to 1845. Reservations are being taken for tour groups, weddings, anniversaries, corporate events, private parties and more.
